Creative Marketing in NYC with Jerome Jarre

After finishing up at SXSW, Stromae headed to New York City, where he’s using some creative marketing techniques in his quest to win over the American public while staying connected to his francophone audience.

Stromae was spotted on the Brooklyn Bridge in New York last Sunday. Observers on social media reported that when some French “tourists” noticed him, he took off his jacket and pants to reveal that he was dressed in his Papaoutai costume under his street clothes. But in fact that French “tourist” was Jerome Jarre, French entrepreneur and extremely popular star on Vine and Snapchat. In 2013, he co-founded GrapeStory, a “marketing agency and production house focused on pairing the best micro-content creators with innovative brands to tell powerful and engaging short stories.” His work has attracted the attention of both the New York Times and The New Yorker.

An Instagram user reported that Stromae was “super friendly” and “seemed to be getting along really well” with the French “tourists” he met on the bridge.

Last summer, Jerome Jarre produced his first Snapchat story with Stromae. If a Snapchat story comes out of their encounter on the Brooklyn Bridge, let’s hope it gets archived on YouTube as did “Stromae’s Carrot.” We’ll add it here if it does.
