All Concerts Canceled June 13 through August 2 for Medical Reasons
A few days ago, we were informed that Stromae had returned to Brussels to undergo medical examinations following an illness. His concert in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo, that had been scheduled for June 13 was therefore canceled. Unfortunately, the results of the examinations were not good. Stromae has suffered side effects of preventive anti-malarial medication that required immediate hospitalization, which will be followed by medical supervision over the next several weeks.
Stromae’s tour production company and management have announced the cancellation of nine additional performances, from next week’s scheduled show in Kigali, Rwanda, through the Lollapalooza Festival in Chicago.
“Following the cancellation of Stromae’s planned concert in Kinshasa, the examinations that the artist has undergone show that he is suffering from serious side effects from preventative anti-malaria treatment, which has necessitated immediate hospitalization and requires medical supervision in the upcoming weeks.
His state of health will not permit him to resume his activities for the time being. Auguri Productions, Mosaert and Stromae’s management are equally forced to announce the cancellation of the following concerts:
20 June Kigali, Rwanda
05 July Wireless Festival, London, UK
08 July Postepay Rock in Rome, Italy
11 July Nos Alive Festival, Lisbon, Portugal
13 July Moon & Stars Festival, Locarno, Switzerland
14 July Hydrogen Festival, Padova, Italy
17 July International Festival of Benicassim, Spain
31 July Osheaga Music & Arts Festival, Montreal, Canada
02 August Lollapalooza Festival, Chicago, USA
We offer our sincere regrets to the public waiting for these events, to the organizers and to those who worked so tirelessly towards their success.
We are today unable to announce rescheduled dates for these shows, and invite ticket holders to directly approach the concert organizers or the initial point of sale for all the details relative to these cancellations.
The rumors which have circulated on other alleged causes for Stromae’s absence are absolutely unfounded.
Auguri Productions & Mosaert”
Representing his community of fans, our team is speechless following the announcement of the cancellation of these concerts and of Stromae’s state of health. Our sympathy goes out to the fans who would have attended one of these concerts.
Above all, Stromaeometre sincerely wishes Paul a rapid and full return to complete health.
