His Facebook page has seen a lot of English recently, but today was different. Writing in French, Stromae announced “Kinshasa, Kigali, I am happy to announce that I will come to close my tour with you!”
Both of these are rescheduled dates. Originally, Stromae was to have been in Kinshasa on June 13 and Kigali on June 17. However, those dates were cancelled due to Stromae’s severe reaction to anti-malaria medication.
The rescheduled concerts will take place on October 10 and October 17, following the completion of Stromae’s North American tour.
It seems entirely fitting that, as it works out, the grand finale of the Racine Carrée tour will take place not under the bright lights of New York City’s Madison Square Garden after all, but in a return to the place where Stromae finds half his roots: his father’s Rwandan homeland.
